Frugal Financial practices of low-income Canadians

Canadians with low and modest incomes follow a number of strategies to make their finances work. We identified a number of financial practices that some of our nearly 30 diarists habitually follow. This includes daily repayment of credit card transactions, saving lump sum payments like Canada Child Benefit and Income Tax Refunds, and minimize the use of a transaction-fee-based debt card.
